Fryatt not going to
Hull
Rumours about a £4
million bid, not true
THE CUNNING FOX,
26.08.2009
The Sunday
papers were full of speculations about a possible £4 million bid for
Matty Fryatt. Hull manager Phil Brown was according to the rumours,
desperate for a new player and would be ready to pay £4 million.
Fryatt is important for the City team, and after missing most of the
pre-season with an infection, he has started the season brilliantly.
He scored the winner against Real Valladolid in his only performance
before the season start, and has after that scored three in the
Carling Cup and League Championship.
His goals against Sheffield United and Barnsley shows that he is a
great goalscorer, but still a bit away from his best. New signings
Paul Gallagher and Yann Kermorgant will keep the former England
Youth international on his thoes.
We all could see that the partnership between Fryatt and Howard was
missing against Barnsley and that Fryatt is a bit dependable of
Howard and City's way of playingstyle shows this.
Rumours about a move to Hull was dismissed by Tigers manager Phil
Brown and Nigel Pearson will not let Matty Fryatt leave.
City owner Milan Mandaric is so far balancing the books, but we all
know that City are depandable of good results and that a fight for a
play off position is very vital for the financial part as well.
The fact that Fryatt has scored two goals in four League games, and
hopefully not in his best form, gives great promise and hopefully we
can keep our longest serving player a bit longer.
Fryatt joined the club in January 2006 and is, among those who have
played in the first team this season, our longest serving player.
The team was in a way "bounded" last season and more changes will
not benefit our progression, let's keep Fryatt for now. |
