U.18 team with good start
Sunderland and Liverpool defeated

THE CUNNING FOX, 01.09.2009

TCF was present at the game against Sunderland and the first half impressed me heavilly. The passing was magnificiant and the Sunderland players almost never really was part of the game, despite scoring 3 goals.

TCF have over the years watched a number of youth games, seeing players such as Levi Porter, James Wesolowski, Alan Sheehan, Joe Mattock and several other of our academy lads who have come through via the academy.

This team looks more solid and the fact that City went on to defeat Liverpool 3-0 in their 2nd game of the season, shows the quality of the team and the players.

City have changed managemet quite a lot at first team level, but the academy has since the start of the century been run by Rudkin and Beaglehole and they have over the years done a magnificant job.

Long term thinking and good strategies has made this academy one of the best in England with players such as Matt Piper, Richard Stearman, Levi Porter, James Wesolowski, Tommy Wright and Joe Mattock as maybe the most known players to get into proffesional foootball at the highest level while at City.

Elliot Chamberlein is a name to remember, he will most certainly be a first team player in a few years time. John Jorrin and central defender Tom Parkes are other names that are very interesting.

Parkes scored the opener against Liverpool with Chamberlein and Boulger with the other two.

City's goals against Sunderland came from King 2, Parkes and Chamberlein.

A promisiing start and a great team in the making.

Results so far
City v Sunderland 4-3 (King 2, Parkes, Chamberlein)
Liverpool v City 0-3 (Parkes, Boulger, Chamberlein)
