Blackpool interview
Views from the other camp
THE CUNNING FOX,
06.09.2009
TCF has spoken
to Peter Gillatt from The Seasiders. One of the first websites to
hit the net in the early 90's. Gillatt is a dedicated fan and
remembers the days when Blackpool were a top club in England.
Here is his answers to our questions in front of the game on
Saturday,
Who is your best
player and why
Our curent star performer is the ex-Rangers midfielder Charlie Adam
who signed for Blackpool for £500,000 breaking the club record
signing in the process.
Adam who was on loan towards the end of last season quickly
established himself in the club's folklore with a superb strike
which helped beat arch rivals Preston North End.
His performances this season have seen Blackpool unbeaten throughout
pre-season and in he League and also helped the Seasiders to a 2-1
win against Everton and a 4-1 demolition of Wigan Athletic.
Who is your worst
With Ian Holloway's small squad it would be unfair to pick
anyone indeed the team's performances this season suggest everyone
is pulling together.
What will be your likely line up
Ian Holloway managed to sign the 24-year-old Algeria international
Hameur Bouazza.and is hoping to pick up Barnet winger Albert Adomah
on loan next week - so apart from these two the side would be the
sme that beat Coventry 3-0 at the weekend.
How do you have to play to get a good result
The team play with wide men and they can quickly change over but
most important is the fact we try and play in the opponents half and
our counter-attacking play can be very effective.
What will the score be
The team have found their scoring boots rcently after four
consecutive draws and I watched Leicester'd defeat at Newcastle and
I think we are a match for your side indeed we are much improved
from the last time we completed the double over yourselves so i'll
stick my neck out and hope for a 2-1 Blackpool win..
Your best memory from a game against Leicester
Blackpool's 1-0 victory on the openening day of the 2007-8 season at
the Walker Stadium . It was our first game back in the chmpionship
for 28 years and when the news filtered through that Wes Hoolihan
was playing you could see the lift it gave to fans and players alike.
The away fans were singing "Blackpool are Back!" after the game and
boy they were
Your worsed memory from a game against Leicester
After taking an unlikely 2-1 lead in the 3rd round of the FA Cup at
the Walker stadium we were on the verge of a famous victory before a
Leicester late equaliser meant a replay at Bloomfield Road which the
Foxes won 1-0.
Who in our team do you fear the most
Fomer Blackpool midfielder Richard Wellens who on his day can open
up teams with his great vision but he doesn't always get his way
against Blackpool sides as we defeated his Oldham side over two legs
in the semi-final play-offs in 2007
Why do you support Blackpool
I've followed the Seasiders since they were last in the top flight
in 1970 and hopefully one day we will return. In any case I'll keep
going in the hope we do
What will you sing on the day
Sea-Sea-Seasiders! over and over again I hope..... |
