Cardiff City, FA Cup
4th round
City on the road to
Wembley ?
THE CUNNING FOX,
21.01.2010
Results have
lately been a bit disapointing, 1-1 at home to Ipswich and our 1-0
defeat away to Swansea. So what do have to wait for away to Cardiff
in the FA Cup, coming up this Saturday
Leicester City:
There is no doubt that Pearson's experiments with a rotation policy
doesn't work, and he has only managed to win games when he sticks to
his best 11. There are talks of playing with two wide players and
skip the holding defensive position to the right in midfield.
TCF would personally like to see Max Gradel in City's team and I
cannot in my wildest dreams understand why Nigel Pearson don't rate
Gradel as a potential candidate for this position. At least I would
have kept him on the bench as an alternative to a wide player if
N'Guessan and Dyer fails. At this moment no one else can cover for
those two.
It's difficult to leave Oakley, King or Wellens out, all of them are
quality players and this has worked well with Dyer to the left. The
problem with this is that you will not birng enough players forward
to be dangerous in every attack. With a wide player on both sides
you would be able to attack with four players instead of three.
City's best line up
Weale - Morrison, Berner, Hobbs, Brown - Wellens, Oakley, King, Dyer
- Fryatt, Howard, subs: N'Guessan, Gradel, Gallagher, McGivern,
Waghorn, Logan
Cardiff City
David Jones has done a great job with Cardiff. They were in the
final of the FA Cup in 2008, defeated by Portsmouth, but anyway a
great run for a Championship club. Cardiff has a totally new stadium
and is a competetive side.
City will be in for a "big job" to get a result here, but hopefully
Nigel Pearson will be able to bring out a team that can be a
handfull for DJ's men.
TCF Result Prediction
1-1 (Howard scores for City)
