Morrison for England
A fantastic progression to be noticed

THE CUNNING FOX, 31.01.2010

The game against Newcastle showed what type of player Michael Morrison allready is, but it is also a player who can progress to become an England international

Michael Morrison joined Leicester City from non-league club Cambridge in front of the 2008-2009 season. He is still a very young man at the age of 21, but his progression in the City team has to be taken notice of.

Morrison had a very promising first season with the club, not 100% certain in the team, but played most of the games and helped City to a great promotion from League 1.

He started this season well at right back, not his best position, and did the most out of it. Robbie Neilson was brought in to play at the right, but Morrison have in the last month shown that he can play consistantly in this position and not given Pearson any reason to replace him with Robbie Neilson.

After watching Morrison on several occations you have to be impressed with the way he manage to take every level he steps into and manage to play with the same enthusiasm and confidence that he did on a lower level.

Nigel Pearson has done some great moves in the transfer market and in Michael Morrison he could have signed a player that in the future will play for England at full international level.

Martin O'Neill signed Steve Guppy from Port Vale, Matt Elliott from Oxford. Muzzy Izzet from Chelsea reserves and they all managed to get international fame while at Leicester City.

Guppy played for England, Izzet for Turkey and Elliott for Scotland.
